Details
This tatreez pattern features an original design of an olive branch and the word 'Palestine' in Arabic/Kufic calligraphy.
Olives are an important part of Palestinian culture and livelihood. Palestinian farmers, or falaheen have cultivated olive trees for thousands of years, making products like oil, soap, and cosmetics. Olives are also an essential item in every Palestinian meal. The olive is a symbol of the Palestinians’ unwavering connection to their land.
Kufic script is one of the oldest Arabic script styles, originating in Kufa, Iraq in the 12th century. It was often used to write copies of the Qu’ran. The Square Kufic style is more decorative and has been used widely in architecture.
File includes the pattern and the DMC embroidery thread colors.
