Rahaal is a Palestinian owned shop run by us (Madeline and Turki). We hope to connect SWANA people in diaspora with our traditions and celebrate SWANA art in an accessible way.

Turki is Palestinian from Nablus and Gaza. His family (like many Palestinian families) were forced to live away from Palestine in Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Libya and Algeria. This blend of many SWANA cultures along with his Palestinian roots infuses through Rahaal's art. 

Madeline is from the NYC region (and Palestinian by marriage). She previously worked as a trauma therapist in women's shelters, where she used fiber arts to process experiences and express emotions. Her journey with tatreez started in 2016, when Turki's mother gifted her her first thobe.
