Details

An intermediate-level kit perfect for anyone who wants to learn how to do tatreez embroidery on fabric, clothing, or accessories. This tatreez kit features an original design of an olive branch and the word 'Palestine' in Arabic/Kufic calligraphy.

Olives are an important part of Palestinian culture and livelihood. Palestinian farmers, or falaheen have cultivated olive trees for thousands of years, making products like oil, soap, and cosmetics. Olives are also an essential item in every Palestinian meal. The olive is a symbol of the Palestinians’ unwavering connection to their land.

Kufic script is one of the oldest Arabic script styles, originating in Kufa, Iraq in the 12th century. It was often used to write copies of the Qu’ran. The Square Kufic style is more decorative and has been used widely in architecture.

The Olive Branch & Palestine bucket hat kit comes with everything you need to start your first embroidery project - including all materials, instructions, and a brief background of the history of tatreez.
